Living in the world today, trying to stay positive, is probably one of the hardest things to do in Life. Regardless of how sunny you are everyday, Life’s situations have a way of choking the happiness out of you sometimes. I believe it is humanly impossible to stay positive every day, all day. Only with the help of God can that happen, and even at that, you still will face gloomy days. The difference would be you have eternal joy and the assurance that your future is beyond beautiful.
Knowing this, you give your life to Jesus and commit to living a life modeled after Him but life won’t let you rest lol. Temptations abound on every corner! if it’s not lying, it’s sexual temptations, gluttony, greediness, hate, resentment etc. The problem is we sometimes worship God knowing fully well we would return to that sin. It’s a different thing to sin, ask God for forgiveness and change your ways for good but now in the world, there’s a new level of hypocrisy.
Worship God on Saturdays/ Sundays or whenever you feel like it and live the remaining days sinning without guilt. I remember being in relationships that weren’t pleasing to God, sinning like it was nothing, yet going to church, being in church departments, updating my profiles about how much I “love” God but yet living a life I knew He hated. If there’s one thing I’m sure of, it’s that God hates sin so much, it separates Him from us because He is so Holy. Despite His love for us, He can’t dwell where there’s sin.
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear’ Isaiah 59:2
I love the song by Jonathan Mcreynolds- no gray, a verse in the song sums it up perfectly, “if it’s God that I’m after, I just can’t serve two masters”. Sin is a master if you let it. Hypocrisy is the worst and it’s all over, serve God today but do the opposite tomorrow. I would prefer if everyone was honest with themselves. Choose God or choose satan. There’s no in-between, it’s either you live for God completely following His will and commandments every day of your life by His grace or you don’t.
15. “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot, I could wish you were cold or hot. 16. So then, because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you of My mouth” Revelations 3:15-16
‘They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work’ Titus 1:16
“If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth” 1 John 1:6
Living for God can sometimes seem challenging in the midst of temptations, I struggle almost every day but the difference is the commitment not to hurt Him anymore, the determination to keep growing just for Him. Pick a side.
